i had an idea to do the Beach Boys and the Ramones as each other and mix them in mono, which i've never done before. this is possibly the worst idea i've ever had and some corpses have definitely rolled over in the grave during the process. while we weren't able to gather 30 other musicians to do a true wall of sound, i moved some things around to sort of recreate that sound for the BB side and kept the Ramones side simple. credits to Dustin Wright for showing me that video of Mike Love going "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" and partially inspiring this single.

drums and bass recorded simultaneously and mixed on a Tascam 38 1/2" reel-to-reel deck thru a Tascam 308 Mixer
"Chain Saw" backing track overdubbed and bounced to a Teac A-4010S stereo reel-to-reel deck, run through a Boss RE-20 Space Echo
vocals added to backing track on Tascam 38 and mixed in mono
transferred to and lightly mixed and mastered in pro tools
